SIM Database Pakistan 2026: check yours free in one minute — plus how to spot fake sites.

Want to see every SIM registered on your CNIC? Good news — it takes one minute and costs almost nothing. This guide gives you the exact steps, the codes to save, and the fake websites to walk away from. Written in plain English, updated 15 August 2026.

Everything you need in six lines

  • Pakistan’s official SIM database is called SVMS, run by PTA and NADRA. It stores every registered SIM against a CNIC.
  • You can only check your own record. Nobody outside PTA can legally check someone else’s.
  • Two free ways to check: SMS your CNIC to 668, or open cnic.sims.pk.
  • For the SIM in your hand, use our free SIM Owner Details Checker or send MNP to 667.
  • You can keep at most 8 SIMs on one CNIC (5 voice + 3 data).
  • Sites like Minahil SIM Database, Sky Fresh SIM Database, and Ridha SIM Database are scams. Skip them.

What is the SIM database in Pakistan?

Every mobile SIM sold in Pakistan is tied to one CNIC. That link is saved inside one government system called SVMS — the Subscriber Verification Management System. Most Pakistanis just call it “the SIM database.”

PTA runs it. NADRA helps with the fingerprint side. Whenever you buy a new SIM and give your thumb impression, a row is added to SVMS. That row says: this SIM belongs to this CNIC, activated on this date, on this network.

Today the database holds around 204.77 million active SIMs, spread across six networks — Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone, SCOM, and Onic. That number is from PTA’s own telecom report for February 2026.

One thing to remember: the SIM database is not a phone book. You cannot type someone’s number and see their name. The system only lets you check your own record. That rule protects everyone’s privacy — including yours.

Check with SMS 668 — steps and example reply

Say you want to see every SIM under your CNIC right now. SMS 668 is the fastest way. Works on any phone. Works even on a basic Nokia keypad.

METHOD 01 · SMS

SMS your CNIC to 668

Reply in ~30 secAny Pakistani SIM
  1. Open the Messages app on your phone.
  2. Start a new message. In the “To” field, type 668.
  3. In the message box, type your 13-digit CNIC. No dashes. No spaces. For example: 4210112345671.
  4. Hit send.
  5. Wait about 30 seconds. A reply comes back showing how many SIMs sit under your CNIC on each network.
Example reply from 668

Zong1 SIM
Telenor1 SIM
Ufone0 SIMs
SCOM0 SIMs
Onic0 SIMs

Check on cnic.sims.pk — the free website

Prefer using a website? PTA has a free portal for exactly this. It shows more detail than the SMS reply, and there’s no cost at all.

METHOD 02 · WEBSITE

Use cnic.sims.pk in any browser

Fully freeWorks worldwidePrints nicely
  1. Open your browser. Chrome, Safari, Firefox — anything works.
  2. Go to cnic.sims.pk.
  3. Type your 13-digit CNIC (or NICOP if you live abroad).
  4. Solve the picture puzzle at the bottom to prove you’re not a bot.
  5. Click Submit. Your SIM database record shows up on screen.

The website also shows the exact date each SIM was activated. So if you spot a strange SIM, you can check when it got added — useful when you’re building a complaint case.

Living abroad?cnic.sims.pk works from any country. You don’t need a Pakistani SIM. You don’t need a VPN. Just open the site and type your CNIC or NICOP.

How to read your SIM database reply

Got your reply but not sure what it means? Nobody explains this part — so here it is, line by line.

What you seeWhat it means
Jazz : 2 SIMsTwo SIMs on your CNIC are on the Jazz network. Includes voice and data SIMs.
Zong : 1 SIMOne SIM on your CNIC is on the Zong network.
Telenor : 1 SIMSame, but on Telenor. Note: Telenor is now under PTML after the July 2026 merger, but the label stays.
Ufone : 0 SIMsNo SIMs registered on Ufone under your CNIC.
Total : 4 SIMsAdd them up. You’re at 4 out of the 8 SIMs you’re allowed.
Activation date (portal only)Only shows on cnic.sims.pk, not in the SMS reply. Tells you the exact day each SIM was added.

What the reply does not include: your name, your address, your photo, or the actual phone numbers. That’s on purpose. The database is designed to give you a count, not a phone directory.

If the total matches the SIMs you actually own — you’re safe. If it’s higher, jump to section 05 right now.

05

Extra SIMs on your CNIC? Do this today

Say your reply shows 4 SIMs but you only own 2. That means someone else — a fraudster, most likely — has registered SIMs using your CNIC. Don’t panic. Follow this order.

  1. Take a screenshot right now. Make sure the date is visible on the phone. This is your evidence.
  2. Call your network’s helpline. Jazz: 111. Zong: 310. Telenor: 345. Ufone: 333. SCOM: 355. Ask them to flag the SIM you don’t recognise. Write down the complaint number they give you.
  3. Visit the franchise in person. Take your original CNIC — a photocopy won’t work. Ask for “SIM disowning.” If the SIM was registered without your permission, this is free.
  4. File a complaint with PTA. Call the toll-free number 0800-55055, or fill the form at complaint.pta.gov.pk.
  5. Lock down your money accounts. Change JazzCash and EasyPaisa passwords. Turn on app-based 2FA instead of SMS OTPs. Set a PIN on WhatsApp so nobody can hijack it if they take over your number.
You have 365 days to disown a fake SIMSince May 2026, PTA gives you a full year to formally remove a fraudulent SIM from your CNIC. But don’t wait. Do it the same day you spot it. Every day that SIM stays active is a day it could be used for fraud in your name.

Check the SIM in your hand — MNP to 667

Bought a used SIM from someone? Got a SIM in a phone you inherited? You can quickly check whose name that specific SIM is on. Here’s how.

METHOD 03 · SIM CHECK

Send MNP to 667

Standard SMS costOnly this SIM
  1. Put the SIM you want to check into any phone.
  2. Open Messages. Type the word MNP — just those three letters.
  3. Send it to 667.
  4. The reply tells you the network it’s registered on, the activation date, and part of the CNIC (some digits are hidden for privacy).

Even faster? Use our free SIM Owner Details Checker. Type the number, hit search, done. No SMS charges. Nothing gets saved on our end.

07

Can you find who owns any phone number?

Short answer: no. Not legally. Not through any real database.

Here’s why. The SIM database only opens up when you enter your own CNIC. There’s no “search by phone number” option, because PTA never built one. Building one would mean anyone could stalk anyone — a privacy nightmare.

So when a website says “put any number, we’ll show you the owner,” one of three things is happening:

  • They’re making it up. The result you see is completely fake.
  • They’re showing you old leaked data from breaches years ago.
  • They’re collecting your CNIC to sell to fraudsters later.

None of those help you. And using such a site puts you in trouble with the PECA 2016 law — more on that in section 16.

Being harassed by an unknown number?Don’t waste time on fake lookup sites. Call the NCCIA cyber helpline at 1799 or the FIA Cyber Crime helpline at 1991. They have real power to trace the owner. You don’t.

08

How many SIMs can you have on one CNIC?

The limit is 8 SIMs total. That splits into:

  • 5 voice SIMs — the regular ones you use for calls and texts.
  • 3 data-only SIMs — for MiFi devices, USB dongles, tablets, IoT devices.

This rule counts across all six networks together. So 3 Jazz SIMs plus 2 Zong SIMs plus 1 Telenor SIM equals 6 voice SIMs — one over the limit. The system will simply refuse to activate the 7th.

The Supreme Court set this rule on 5 November 2015. Some old articles still say “5 SIMs total” — that number is wrong. It’s 8, and it’s been 8 for over a decade.

Regular people (with CNIC)8 SIMs total (5 voice + 3 data)
Foreign visitors (with passport or POC)2 SIMs — tied to visa length
Businesses (registered with NTN)No fixed cap. Sit separately from the personal limit.
Children under 18Can’t have SIMs in own name. Must sit on a parent’s CNIC and count toward the parent’s 8.

09

How to remove a SIM from your CNIC

Two reasons you might want to do this. First, you spotted a SIM you never bought. Second, you’re at the 8-SIM limit and want to drop an old one to make room for a new one.

If someone else registered a SIM in your name

  • This is called fraudulent disowning.
  • Cost: free.
  • Take your original CNIC to the franchise of the network the fake SIM is on. Say “I want to disown a SIM I never registered.” They’ll take your thumbprint and remove the SIM.
  • Also file a PTA complaint — see section 05 for the full 5-step plan.

If you want to drop your own SIM

  • This is called voluntary disowning.
  • Cost: capped at Rs. 200. That’s the maximum any franchise can charge. If they ask for more, they’re overcharging.
  • Take your CNIC and the SIM (or at least the number). Ask to remove it from your record.
  • New rule since May 2026: if the SIM is less than 365 days old, you cannot transfer it to another person. You can still disown it.

Fake SIM database websites — what to watch for

Ok, here’s the ugly side. Search “sim database” on Google and you’ll see dozens of sites promising the world. Most are scams. Some are worse — they steal your CNIC the moment you type it.

You don’t need to memorise every fake site. You just need to spot the warning signs. If you see any of these, close the tab.

Red flags on any “SIM database” website

  • Promises to show any stranger’s name, address, or photo from a phone number
  • URL ends in .ga, .cf, .ml, or .tk — these are free web addresses used by scammers
  • Asks you to install an APK before you can search
  • Shows a “premium” tier where you pay extra for “fresh” data
  • Uses a person’s first name as the brand (Minahil, Sky, Ridha, etc.)
  • Says “verified by PTA” but doesn’t link to any PTA page
  • Pushes you to a Telegram group or WhatsApp chat for “faster results”
  • Loads with lots of pop-ups and “download” buttons that don’t fit the topic

PTA has already blocked more than 1,300 illegal SIM database sites up to 2026. NCCIA shut down 139 more in October 2025 alone. But new ones open every week. Learn the signs — that’s the real protection.

Minahil, Sky, Ridha — the truth about these “SIM database” brands

Three names come up again and again in Google searches: “Minahil SIM Database,” “Sky Fresh SIM Database,” and “Ridha SIM Database.” A lot of Pakistanis type these looking for a trusted service.

Here’s the reality nobody tells you: these are not real companies. They’re not brands. They’re not licensed by PTA. They’re personal-name handles run by small groups on Telegram and TikTok, selling either made-up data or stolen data from old breaches.

Minahil SIM Database Scam

Runs on Telegram channels with names like “Minahil SIM Data,” “Minahil Verified.” Posts fake screenshots as “proof.” Takes payment through JazzCash or EasyPaisa on WhatsApp. Whatever you get back is either invented or old leaked data.

Why you should skip it: your CNIC gets added to their resale list the moment you contact them. That CNIC then travels to more scammers.

Sky Fresh SIM Database Scam

Uses the word “sky” to sound official, and “fresh” to trick you into thinking the data is new. Same setup — Telegram group, WhatsApp payment desk, fake results. There is no “sky-verified” data anywhere in Pakistan’s telecom system.

Why you should skip it: “fresh” data does not exist. See section 13 for the full explanation.

Ridha SIM Database (also spelled Rida) Scam

Another first-name handle. Rebrands under a new spelling every few months when the old channel gets banned. Same seller, new name. Same fake data, new label.

Why you should skip it: paying scammers keeps them in business, and puts you at risk of jail under PECA 2016.

If a “SIM database” service is named after a person, it’s not a company. It’s a scam channel.

The rule is simple: any Pakistani service that legally handles SIM data uses a proper company name — PTA, Jazz Communications, Pak Telecom Mobile Limited, and so on. Never a first name. So when you see Minahil, Sky, Ridha, Javeria, Ayesha, or any similar personal name as a “SIM database” brand, close the page. Every time.

13

“Fresh SIM Database” — the honest answer

“Fresh SIM Database” gets over 1,900 searches every month. The word “fresh” makes people think there’s a newer, better version of the SIM data floating around. There isn’t.

The real SIM database (SVMS) updates every second. When a new SIM activates in a Lahore shop at 3:14 PM, the record is in the database by 3:14 PM. There’s no “old version” and no “new version.” It’s always live.

So the word “fresh” is meaningless. There’s just one database, and it’s always up to date. Any website selling you a “fresh 2026 database file” is selling you fiction.

The actual freshest dataIs your own 668 reply — the one you get right now, today. That’s real. That’s live. Nothing anyone sells you can beat it.

14

“Live Tracker SIM Database” — why it’s fake

Search “live tracker sim database” and you’ll find apps and websites claiming to show any SIM’s live location on a map. This gets over 2,350 searches every month — huge demand for something that doesn’t exist.

Here’s the truth: no legal public tool can track any Pakistani SIM’s live location. Not a website. Not an APK. Not a paid subscription. Not a “premium” tier. Not one.

What these “live tracker” apps actually do:

  • Show a fake map with a random pin — the pin location is made up.
  • Ask for permission to read your SMS, contacts, and location — that’s how they steal your data.
  • Charge you for a “premium unlock” that reveals more fake data.
  • Sometimes install spyware alongside the fake tracker interface.

Real live location data exists inside network operators’ systems. But only law enforcement can get it — and only with a court order. This is for serious cases like blackmail, kidnapping, or fraud. Not for finding out where your ex is right now.

If someone is genuinely threatening youCall NCCIA cyber helpline 1799 or FIA Cyber Crime helpline 1991. They can request real location data through the proper legal channel. A random “live tracker” app cannot.

SIM Database APK apps — never install these

“SIM Database APK” is one of the most searched terms on Pakistani Google. People want an app they can install on their phone. Sadly, almost every APK marketed this way is malware. Not “some are risky” — almost all of them are dangerous.

Here’s what these APKs typically ask permission to do the moment you install them:

  • Read your SMS messages — including bank OTPs, PTA codes, WhatsApp verification codes.
  • Read your contacts — every name and number in your phonebook gets uploaded.
  • Read your call log — full history of every call you’ve made or received.
  • Access your location — reports where you are.
  • Show over other apps — allows fake screens to sit on top of your real banking app.

A real SIM check needs none of these permissions. If an app asks for even one of them just to “check a SIM database,” uninstall it right away.

Safe way to check SIMs on your phoneUse only the official apps of the networks — My Jazz, My Zong, My Telenor, My Ufone, ONIC. Get them from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Never from a link someone sends you in WhatsApp or SMS.

Punishments under the PECA 2016 law

Pakistan has a proper law that punishes people who misuse SIM database information. It’s called the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, or PECA 2016 for short. Two important things to know:

  1. Checking your own SIM record is 100% legal. Everything on this page — 668, cnic.sims.pk, 667, sim.net.pk — is safe and allowed.
  2. Trying to look up somebody else’s data is a crime. Even just buying such a lookup from a Telegram vendor makes you a criminal, not just the seller.
Section of lawCrimeMaximum punishment
Section 3Getting into a protected system without permission3 months jail / Rs. 100,000 fine / both
Section 4Copying or sending data without permission6 months jail / Rs. 100,000 fine / both
Section 16Using someone else’s identity info without permission — the main “SIM database” crime3 years jail / Rs. 5,000,000 fine / both
Section 17Issuing SIM cards through fraud3 years jail / Rs. 500,000 fine / both

The key word in the law is “without permission.” You have permission to check your own data. You never have permission to check someone else’s. And the law goes after both sides of a deal — the person selling the illegal lookup and the person buying it.

Overseas Pakistanis — check from any country

Living in Dubai? Riyadh? London? Toronto? You can still check your SIM database record. You don’t need a Pakistani SIM. You don’t need to fly home.

Two easy ways from abroad:

  • cnic.sims.pk — open in any browser. Type your CNIC or NICOP. Solve the puzzle. Done. Costs nothing.
  • RAABTA WhatsApp — save 0315-0055055. Send “Hi.” Follow the menu. Also free.

What about removing a fake SIM from abroad? Slightly trickier — disowning needs a live thumbprint, which means someone has to physically visit a franchise. The solution: give a trusted family member in Pakistan a notarised authority letter, and they can go on your behalf.

Deceased family membersIf someone in the family has passed away, remove their CNIC from NADRA and disown any SIMs under their name. Otherwise their CNIC becomes a target for fraudsters. PTA blocked 3.2 million SIMs on deceased CNICs in just one year (2024-2025) — don’t let your family become part of next year’s number.

People also ask

What is the SIM database in Pakistan?

It’s a government system called SVMS, run by PTA and NADRA. Every registered SIM in the country is linked to a CNIC inside it. You can only check your own record — nobody can search someone else’s.

How do I check the SIM database online free?

Two free options. First, go to cnic.sims.pk in any browser and type your CNIC. Second, message PTA’s WhatsApp RAABTA at 0315-0055055. Both are totally free and work from any country.

How to check SIM database with CNIC?

Send your 13-digit CNIC (no dashes) to 668 via SMS. Costs about Rs. 2. You’ll get a reply in around 30 seconds showing how many SIMs sit under your CNIC on each network. You must use your own CNIC — not someone else’s.

Can I check SIM database by number?

Only for the SIM in your own hand. Put the SIM in a phone, send MNP to 667, and you’ll see the network and part of the owner’s CNIC. For any other number, no legal tool exists — that’s a privacy protection under PECA 2016.

Is Minahil SIM Database real?

No. Minahil SIM Database is a scam run on Telegram. There’s no such licensed service anywhere in Pakistan. Using it puts you at risk of jail under PECA 2016 Section 16 — up to 3 years, plus a fine up to Rs. 5,000,000.

Is Sky Fresh SIM Database safe?

No. Sky Fresh SIM Database is another Telegram scam using fancy branding to sound trustworthy. The word “fresh” is meaningless — the real SIM database is always live. Skip it.

Is Ridha SIM Database legit?

No. Ridha (sometimes spelled Rida) SIM Database is a personal-name Telegram vendor. Same fake data as the other scam brands. Sellers rebrand under new spellings when their channels get banned. Never pay them.

Is Fresh SIM Database a real thing?

No. There’s no such thing as a “fresh” SIM database. The real one (SVMS) updates every second in real time — there are no old versions, no new versions, no yearly editions. The word “fresh” is scam-site marketing.

Is Live Tracker SIM Database real?

No. No public tool can track any Pakistani SIM’s live location. Apps and sites claiming this either show fake map pins, install spyware, or steal your contacts and SMS. Real live location is only available to police through court orders.

Can I download a SIM database APK?

No safe SIM database APK exists. Every APK marketed this way asks for SMS-reading, contact-reading, and location permissions — those are permissions no legit SIM check needs. Uninstall any such app you already have.

How many SIMs can one CNIC have?

Maximum 8 SIMs — 5 voice SIMs plus 3 data-only SIMs — across all six networks combined. Set by Supreme Court in November 2015, confirmed again in 2024.

Is the 668 SIM check free?

Not fully — 668 charges about Rs. 2 + tax for the SMS. If you want completely free, use cnic.sims.pk on any browser or the RAABTA WhatsApp helpline at 0315-0055055.

What if a SIM I never registered shows on my CNIC?

Take a screenshot with the date visible, call the operator helpline to flag the SIM, visit the franchise with your original CNIC to ask for “SIM disowning” (free for fake SIMs), file a PTA complaint at 0800-55055, and secure your bank apps. Act the same day — don’t wait.

Does the SIM database show my address or photo?

No. The public check only shows how many SIMs are on your CNIC per network, plus activation dates on cnic.sims.pk. Your name, address, photo, and date of birth never appear in any SIM database check — even when checking your own record.

Is 8300 the SIM database check number?

No — that’s a common mix-up. 8300 is the Election Commission’s voter roll check, not a SIM check. For SIM database, use 668 (SMS your CNIC) or the cnic.sims.pk website.

Do Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone each have their own SIM database?

No. All six networks feed into the same PTA-run SVMS database. So “Jazz SIM database” or “Zong SIM database” as a separate thing doesn’t exist. One 668 check covers all networks in a single reply.

Can overseas Pakistanis check their SIM database?

Yes. Use cnic.sims.pk with your CNIC or NICOP from any country — no Pakistani SIM needed. Or use RAABTA WhatsApp at 0315-0055055. Both are free.

How often should I check my SIM database?

Once a month is a good habit. Takes less than a minute. Screenshot each reply with the date visible — those screenshots protect you if a fake SIM ever shows up later.

What does disowning a SIM cost?

Free if the SIM was registered by someone else in your name. Capped at Rs. 200 if you’re voluntarily removing your own SIM. Any franchise asking for more is overcharging.

Is Truecaller a SIM database?

No. Truecaller is a caller ID app built from data other users have added. It’s fine for spotting spam calls. But it’s not the official Pakistan SIM database and it doesn’t count as legal proof of who owns any number.

What happens to my Telenor SIM after the PTML merger?

Nothing changes for you. Your Telenor SIM, number, packages, and USSD codes all keep working the same way. Only the company name behind Telenor changed — it’s now part of PTML, which also owns Ufone.

What is RAABTA WhatsApp?

RAABTA is PTA’s official WhatsApp helpline at 0315-0055055, launched in February 2026. Send “Hi” and follow the menu to check your SIM database, verify your IMEI, or file a complaint. Completely free and works from any country.

What are the punishments for using illegal SIM database sites?

Under PECA 2016 Section 16, up to 3 years in jail plus a fine up to Rs. 5,000,000. The law applies to both the sellers (like Minahil, Sky, Ridha) and the people who buy from them. Buying is not a smaller crime — it’s the same crime.

Where do I report a fake SIM database site?

Are older “SIM database 2020” or “SIM database 2022” files real?

No. There are no dated versions of Pakistan’s SIM database. Old year labels usually mean old leaked data from breaches — still illegal to use, no matter how old. Ignore all “yearly database” claims.
